So I decided to make a plan, run into university, where I managed to obtain a degree; BA(Hons) Mathematics with Islamic Studies.
Great achievement right, not quite.. I found myself in a financial crisis, that of a student debt & jobless.
Inter-twined with the current economic climate, that of quantitative easing on the aftermath of a credit crunch which had hit the country (United Kingdom) hard.
You guessed right, I decided to run again. This time into further education to study for a post-grad certification in education.
I gave up on the course the minute I was offered a teaching job at a private Islamic school.
Well, your probably thinking not the best move in life. The idea was to reduce my existing debt, & ultimately to gain reward for the life of the year after, if that makes sense..
During this process I began to take an interest in business, in particular the embryonic phase of new start up companies.
All of a sudden, I started investing in start up's through private equity. The bulb lit up, I realized I had a natural gift for something after all.
Within a couple of months I was debt free, it was the best decision I ever made in my life. Alhamdulillah - praise be to Allah.
Recently, I have managed to set up my own company and am praying to get the correct team & investor's on board to grow the business.
Feel free to get in touch if your interested, do remember me in your prayers.

Congratulations! I love reading rags-to-riches stories, more so if it's a true story. You should be proud of yourself, I'm sure your parents do too. Can I get some tips from you :)?
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I've been to New York before, gone through Bronx too - was on a highway from North towards Connecticut.
