Imam Shafi'i, (may the mercy of Allah be upon him) said,

When their sole objective is to dominate over others, how could they be expected to practice mutual attachment, love and consideration?

And for one what evil could be greater than that which drowns him in the morals of the hypocrites and deprives him of the morals of those who truly believe in Allah?"

Sayyidna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said,

"Make (things) easy and do not make (things) difficult and give (people) the good news (of mercy from Allah) and do not disappoint or alienate (them)" (Sahih al-Bukhari, Kitab al-Ilm)
